WADENA COUNTY, Minn. – Six motorists were taken to the hospital after a crash on U.S. Highway 10 in Verndale just before 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Charles Bimberg, 77, of Verndale was stopped facing north on Brown Street Northwest, then tried to cross Highway 10. His vehicle was hit by 30-year-old Dion Vantyler of Breckenridge who was driving east on Highway 10, the patrol said.
Bimberg was taken to St. Cloud Hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. Vantyler was taken to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Four passengers, including two children, ages 1 and 4, were also involved in the crash. The four were taken to Tri-County Hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, the patrol said.
