FARGO-Thousands walked for suicide prevention this weekend in Fargo.
People from across the region took part in the annual "Out of the Darkness Walk," Sunday, Sept. 9.
The walk raised money for the American foundation of suicide prevention.
The cause was personal for many of the participants.
Brenda Weiler told WDAY News it helped her feel supported after losing her sister to suicide.
"For me personally it's healing just to be around other people who have been through the experience. To know that as a survivor, as a family that lost that you're not alone cuz sometimes it can be a little isolating," said Brenda Weiler.
While they're still tallying up the donations, they were near their $100,000 goal before the walk started.
