FARGO-The great outdoors took the place of the classroom for some local high school students.
Juniors and Seniors from Davies headed to Forest River Nature Park.
Experts gave them lessons about water quality and runoff, as well as plant identification.
Some of them grabbed loppers and cut down invasive plants
Audubon Dakota guided the students as they learned more about birds and other wildlife.
"Just getting students outside to let them see what's out here and what's around them, it really makes an impact on them," Mike Bush of Audubon Dakota says.
Forest River is one of 21 Nature Parks in Fargo-Moorhead.
