FARGO — Every dog has its day, and Saturday, Aug. 17, was the corgis' turn for a day at the races.
Dozens of racegoers cheered on their favorite corgis at the inaugural Red River Corgi Races held Saturday afternoon at the North Dakota Horse Park in Fargo. The races, held alongside the Fargo Food Truck Festival, attracted more than 40 entrants, enough for 10 heats.
Eddie, who belongs to Jon and Angie Kuehnemund, of Mapleton, won the final round and was named the champion corgi. The event raised more than $1,700 for the Fargo-based nonprofit Diamond in the Ruff Pet Rescue.
