FARGO — While it is still the first half of October, parts of North Dakota are expecting significant snow this week and the North Dakota Department of Transportation warns travel could be impacted by the storm.
NDDOT is reminding motorists to check road conditions prior to traveling. The agency offers several ways to get road condition information, including the NDRoads mobile app, the travel information map at dot.nd.gov, email and text alerts through GovDelivery service and by calling 511.
Motorists can also see where some of NDDOT's plows are working through the Track-A-Plow option on the travel map.
NDDOT said that while it does what it can to keep travelers informed, road conditions are not reported 24 hours a day on the travel map and conditions can sometimes differ from what is being reported.
