WEST FARGO — A GoFundMe page is raising money to support a West Fargo teen recently diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gherig's disease.

Fifteen-year-old Ben Merck was diagnosed with the disease on Oct. 22.

Then, Make-A-Wish Foundation gifted Merck a trip to meet his favorite NBA player, Rockets guard James Harden.

Now that the trip is over, Merck's GoFundMe page will raise money for home modifications to make Merck's family home handicapped accessible as Ben's condition progresses. The GoFundMe page says the money raised will also pay medical bills and extra living costs.
