FARGO — Police are asking the public for information about a driver who crashed a car into a south Fargo apartment building shortly before noon Wednesday, July 21.

The driver was heading west on 16th Avenue South when he rammed into the side of an apartment on 1537 48th St. S., according to the Fargo Police Department. The apartment building is about one block west of the 45th Street Scheels store.

A photo provided to police by a witness shows a Black man wearing a red sweatshirt, red shoes and blue jeans running away from the scene.

A woman and an infant inside the apartment when the crash happened were taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police spokeswoman Jessica Schindeldecker.

Fargo police are asking anyone with information about the crash or the driver to contact the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at 701-451-7660.
