Train carrying coal derailed in Polk County

14 train cars derailed off the tracks while carrying coal.
Train derailed east of Fisher in Polk County

Polk County, Minn-- The Polk County Sheriff's office received a call for a train derailment in the area of 320th Ave SW and 255th St SW just east of Fisher, Minn. on Tuesday Nov. 20th.

Deputies responded and met up with BNSF officials who were on the scene.

Fourteen train cars carrying coal had derailed from the tracks.

No injuries were reported in the accident.

BNSF is currently working to remove the cars and fix the tracks.

The sheriff's office is asking that the public stay clear of the area while the BNSF works to clean it up.

County 61 from 330th Ave SW to 310th Ave SW will be closed until the cleanup is complete.
