Three dead in head-on crash in northwest North Dakota

KEENE, N.D. — The names of three adults killed in a head-on crash near Keene on Saturday, Dec. 8, have been released.

The driver of a 2015 Nissan Rogue was identified as Jim Livengood, 68, and the two passengers as Tina Livengood, 45, and Elizabeth Livengood, 68, of Williston. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

A Peterbilt semi truck was leaving the roundabout north of Keene on Highway 23 near mile marker 28 traveling east at about 9 p.m. The Nissan was traveling west on Highway 23 and was entering the roundabout when it jumped the concrete curb and crossed into the eastbound lane, according to the highway patrol, and struck the semi head-on.

The driver of the semi truck, William Bowden, 37, of Ocklawaha, Fla., sustained minor injuries and was transported to the McKenzie County Hospital.

Both vehicles sustained extensive front end damage in the crash.

The incident was investigated by the North Dakota Highway Patrol and no charges have been filed.

The crash occurred three miles north of Keene, or about 60 miles southeast of Williston.
