FARGO -- Jessy Haberman spent much of his life in and out of the hospital.
One day, a nurse gave him a power ranger toy, and that changed his entire outlook.
He decided he do the same for others kids, which started a thriving charity called Jessy's Toy Box, where he would give toys to other kids in the hospital, going through the same things he was.
Jessy passed away less than a year ago.
His legacy, however, is seen through the kindness of others like the "Cboys," who alongside many members of the Haberman family and the community, purchased more than $5,300 worth of toys at Target in Fargo Wednesday night.
"For them to have this big of hearts for these kids and want to do something for them - for a mother that's just amazing," Jessy's mother Heather Haberman said.
The Detroit Lakes boys heard about this charity through a friend.
They've been giving back for two years prior, but this year they wanted to make it bigger and better.
Initially they told the Haberman family that they'd only raised $3,000.
However on Wednesday night, they surprised the family by revealing they'd actually raised $10,000.
They were able to do so from their videos, but also by enlisting businesses to get involved with the cause.
For Ben Roth, one of the YouTubers, he just had to think about what it would be like in the kids' shoes.
"I can't imagine not getting toys as a kid and I can't imagine being in the hospital," said Roth. "Being able to take those kids' minds off of that for one second, it's an amazing story."
They still have nearly $5,000 to spend, and Jessy's Toy Box has several locations and toy box drops in North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Michigan.
