FARGO — First Step Recovery, a program of The Village Family Service Center, is launching a new treatment option for those affected by the disease of addiction.
Beginning Monday, Feb. 18, First Step will offer a daytime intensive outpatient program. Day programs are designed to make treatment more accessible to individuals who work later shifts or have other evening obligations.
First Step’s new group option is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This nine-hour-a-week program is designed for patients who have alcohol or other drug problems that significantly affect their lives. The program includes group and individual therapy, family therapy and educational lectures and videos.
Length of program varies and is based on each patient’s treatment goals and progress. The day group will be facilitated by licensed addiction counselor Adam Priebnow. An evening intensive outpatient program is also available at First Step.
First Step Recovery was founded in 2000, and became part of The Village in 2011. It offers a range of addiction treatment programs, including partial hospitalization and relapse prevention. First Step also has a family program for loved ones of those in treatment.
