MOORHEAD — The Red River Watershed Management Board (RRWMB) will host two events this month focused on flooding and watershed management.
The inaugural Red River Basin Drainage Conference is on Tuesday, March 19, at the Courtyard Marriott, 1080 28th Ave S.
The drainage conference will include overviews of state drainage rules and regulations from legal experts for Minnesota and North Dakota. Presentations will also highlight practical implementation and application of best management practices for public drainage projects. Cost to attend is $50 and registration is required.
The RRWMB's and Red River Basin Flood Damage Reduction Work Group's 21st Annual Joint Conference will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, and last until 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, also at the Courtyard Marriott in Moorhead.
The conference will address a recent state report on pollution in the Red River, flood damage reduction efforts and will include a 2019 spring flood outlook by Greg Gust of the National Weather Service. Cost to attend is $25 and registration is required.
