GRAND FORKS —It's been almost eight months since the public transit service for Grand Forks and East Grand Forks introduced its current bus routes.
Cities Area Transit now plans to adjust the routes based on suggestions the service has received from riders since summer 2018. The proposed route changes can be found on the City of Grand Forks website.
"It's taking the feedback that we got and putting it on the map, as far as how we address these concerns and requests," said CAT Mobility Manager Ali Rood.
Changes include spreading services throughout the day instead of using them to bolster peak times, offering more direct routes between downtown and south Grand Forks, and restoring service to North 39th Street.
Increasing service at Altru Hospital is also a priority, Rood told WDAY News on Monday, March 18.
CAT and the local Metropolitan Planning Organization of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks will hold two open house events for feedback toward the end of this month, one at the Grand Forks City Hall on March 19 from 6 to 8 p.m., the second at the East Grand Forks City Hall on March 21 from 4 to 6 p.m.
