FARGO — A Minnesota woman is suing the company that owns the WE Fest Country Music Festival, after suffering an injury during the event, according to a civil lawsuit filed in federal court.

Kristine West, of Maple Grove, Minn., attended the annual music festival in August 2017 in Detroit Lakes, Minn., and injured her foot when she stepped into a hole in a pedestrian walkway, court documents stated.

West accuses Townsquare Media Inc., a company headquartered in Greenwich, Conn., of being negligent in maintaining the walkway, and she claims it directly led to her injury, court documents stated.

West is asking for a jury trial and seeking more than $75,000 in damages, including medical expenses, court documents stated.

A phone message left for Townsquare Media on Thursday, May 9, was not immediately returned.
