ST. PAUL — Michael Herzog, a former Concordia College football quarterback, is being released from Regions Hospital this week, according to an update on his CaringBridge website Tuesday, April 23.

He has been recovering at the St. Paul hospital since March after a gas explosion at an ice fishing house in Moorhead caused burns on 76% of his body.

Herzog has lost 30 pounds and most of his strength and doesn't have full use of his hands, but he was recently able to start using his phone again.

The website says he will continue his care at home and that the Herzog family thanks everyone for their prayers.
