NEVIS, Minn. — An 18-year-old passenger killed in a vehicle-tractor crash east of Nevis last week has been identified.
Anneka Elizabeth Davis of Nevis died Friday, July 5, in White Oak Township, east of Nevis, when an eastbound 1989 Chevrolet Caprice driven by an unidentified 17-year-old male collided with a westbound farm tractor pulling a haybine, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
The crash occurred at 11:22 a.m. on 190th Street at 335th Avenue. The Caprice went into the ditch and rolled, the State Patrol said.
Davis was not wearing a seat belt.
Another passenger in the car, James Anthony Geschwill, 19, of Akeley was transported to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo with injuries that were not life-threatening. Geschwill was not wearing a seat belt during the accident.
No injury information about the Chevy’s juvenile driver was released, but he was not transported to a medical facility. However, the driver was wearing a seat belt.
Uninjured was Mark Lee Gunkel, 55, of Akeley, who was driving a 1960 Farmall 460 tractor pulling a 1960 Holland 488 haybine.
Nevis is about 12 miles east of Park Rapids.
