MOORHEAD — Employees at a south Moorhead CVS Pharmacy continued to clean up Friday afternoon, Aug. 16, after an early-morning water main break flooded the store with about 12 inches of water, damaging the interior and sending merchandise flowing out the doors.

Red River Regional Dispatch Center received a call around 1:30 a.m. about a broken water main underneath the store at 822 30th Ave. S.

The Moorhead Fire Department said Moorhead Public Service had to shut the water off to the building to stop the flow of water.

The fire department said it could not provide the amount of damage in the store, but merchandise could be seen floating out of the store and into the parking lot of the building.

CVS will remain closed until the water main is repaired. Prescriptions at the store have been transferred to the CVS location at 1714 Center Ave. W. in Dilworth. The store apologized to customers for any inconvenience.
