GWINNER, N.D. — A 26-year-old man continues to recover in the hospital after he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his vehicle Monday morning, Dec. 28, in Gwinner, according to the Sargent County Sheriff's Office.
David Twa was heading east on Highway 13 at around 8 a.m. Monday when he fell asleep about a mile and a half west of Gwinner, hit a driveway approach with his 2017 Jeep and launched the vehicle 230 feet before it landed on its roof, the sheriff's office said.
A doorbell camera from a neighbor captured the accident.
Twa was initially taken to the hospital in Lisbon before being airlifted to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo with life-threatening injuries, the sheriff's office said.
On Tuesday, Sanford Media Relations said Twa was in fair condition and is expected to turn to good condition soon.
