DICKINSON, North Dakota — A 22-year-old Mandan man was killed early Thursday morning, July 29, when he was struck by a 25-year-old woman driving a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox in Dickinson, North Dakota.

Morgan Laroche, of Dickinson, was traveling westbound on Broadway Street when she struck a male pedestrian shortly after midnight. Laroche's drivers' side front corner struck the unidentified man, according to a North Dakota Highway Patrol news release.

The pedestrian was in the middle of the roadway at the time of the crash, according to the release.

Following the collision, the driver turned around and returned to the scene. Dickinson Police officers responded to the scene and located the unidentified Mandan man unresponsive in the roadway and began life-saving measures. The victim was transported in critical condition to CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

Laroche was arrested and transported to the Southwest Multi-County Correctional Center and charged with Criminal Vehicular Homicide.

Laroche and her passenger were not injured, according to the release.

Officials from highway patrol continue to investigate the crash and the pedestrian's identity has not been released publicly pending notification of next of kin.
