GLYNDON, Minn. — A 63-year-old Moorhead motorcyclist sustained serious injuries when he lost control of his 2007 Harley Davidson just east of Glyndon on U.S. Highway 10 about 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

David Laverne Nelson was taken to the Sanford hospital, but his injuries weren't life-threatening, the Patrol said.

Nelson was eastbound on the highway when he laid the bike down after losing control.

Traffic was backed up for miles on the roadway as a result of the accident. However, by 5 p.m., traffic was moving again, the patrol said.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene, according to Sheriff Mark Empting.
