Sanctuary to host fundraiser for Fargo chef hit by car

Swegarden

FARGO — Hundreds of people are expected to jam out at a special show benefiting the victim of a downtown Fargo hit and run.

WDAY News has been following Joe Swegarden's story since August.

Police said he was hit by a car whose driver is charged with aggravated reckless driving.

Swegarden suffered a traumatic brain injury and has a costly road to recovery.

His friends and family decided to host a concert benefit for Swegarden on Sunday, Nov. 25.

The show will be held at Sanctuary Events Center in downtown Fargo.

The lineup features an eclectic mix of local music, with all of the money going to help Swegarden.

"When something like that happens, it's a huge expense and huge stress on him and his family, that wasn't expected," Show organizer Kris Dissette said.

Tickets are $10.
