Medical emergency leads to traffic signal crash in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS - A medical emergency caused a Grand Forks man to crash into a traffic signal pole on Sunday morning.

On January 20th, the Grand Forks Police Department responded to a report of an impaired driver heading south on Washington Street at 10:51 a.m.

Multiple people reported seeing a Toyota Crossover crash into a traffic signal at the intersection of 44th Avenue South and South Washington Street.

When officers arrived on scene they identified Vanvleet, 24, as the driver of the vehicle.

He was experiencing a medical emergency when crews found him.

Medical personnel from Altru Ambulance treated Vanvleet on scene before releasing him.

No other injuries and property damage was reported.
