Authorities respond to cyclist hit by a vehicle in south Moorhead

MOORHEAD — Neighbors said they saw a car swerve off the road and hit a cyclist before crashing into a tree.

The car crashed near 12th Avenue South and 13th Street South in the late afternoon on Monday, July 27.

A least one person in the car was taken away in an ambulance. Witnesses said the biker walked away and is doing alright.

Neighbors said first responders had to help remove someone stuck in the vehicle.

Martin Jacobson, who lives in the neighborhood, said he heard from the biker after the crash.

"She said that it was probably an act of God that she made it. It was very close," Jacobson said.

The Moorhead Police Department said they are still investigating the crash.
