A call for a suspicious vehicle at 60th Avenue Southwest and Sixth Street Southwest in Moorhead at 3 p.m., according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office. Their investigation eventually led them to the boat launch across the river near 52nd Avenue South in Fargo.

The sheriff's office and Valley Water Rescue searched the river, they said, and found the body of an adult victim.

An investigation is underway to determine whether foul play was involved. Nobody had been arrested as of Friday evening, the sheriff's office said.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine how long the body was in the river, the sheriff's office said.
