A small child was injured after it appears they were hit by a trailer pulled behind a vehicle Tuesday, June 22, in rural Traill County.

Traill County Sheriff’s deputies and Hillsboro Ambulance responded to a report of a 4-year-old child possibly run over by a vehicle on private property around 4 p.m. Tuesday in rural Blanchard, N.D., according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Blanchard is just west of Hillsboro.

Authorities said the vehicle involved was pulling a trailer and “it appears that the child was actually hit by the trailer and it is unknown if the trailer ran the child over.”

The child was transported by ambulance to a Fargo hospital with unknown injuries.
