FOSSTON, Minn. — A Lengby, Minn., woman is facing felony theft charges after police say she embezzled nearly $270,000 from her former employer in Red Lake County.
Chelsie Mae Johnson, 32, was arrested in Fosston Wednesday night, June 12, by sheriff's deputies from Red Lake and Polk counties. She was taken to the jail in Crookston.
According to a criminal complaint, Johnson used company funds, without authorization, to make payments on personal credit card accounts from November 2016 through April 2019. There's no word on who Johnson was working for.
She made her initial court appearance in Crookston on Thursday. Her bail was set at $1,500 cash.
