FARGO — A Fargo man appeared in Cass County District Court on Monday, Aug. 12., and received 90 days in jail after earlier pleading guilty to a charge of solicitation of a minor.
Meanwhile, a charge of gross sexual imposition that had been pending against Muya Osman Muya, who was 20 when he was charged last fall, was dismissed.
On the solicitation of a minor charge, imposition of sentence was officially deferred and Muya was placed on supervised probation for five years.
When imposition of sentence is deferred, it means it is possible the charge could ultimately be dismissed if someone successfully completes terms of probation.
In addition to being placed on supervised probation, Muya was ordered to pay $560 in fees.
He was given credit for having served seven days.
According to court documents, the charges stemmed from March of 2018, when two minors accused Muya of having illegal sexual contact with them.
In one case, a young woman told police she met with a man, later identified as Muya, at the West Acres Shopping Mall and that the man put his hands down her pants and penetrated her vagina. She told police Muya later did the same thing again while she was in a photo booth.
