DARR, Neb. — A Fargo man was arrested in Nebraska after a search of a van he was driving turned up large quantities of drugs, according to a news release from the Nebraska State Patrol.

The Nebraska State Patrol released a statement about two separate traffic stops on Wednesday, Sept. 11, that resulted in the seizure of 200 pounds of marijuana and other drugs.

The bulk of those drugs came from the stop involving Brent Lorenz, 50, of Fargo, according to the release. The Nebraska State Patrol said a trooper noticed a Ford Transit van fail to use a turn signal at an exit along Interstate 80 near Darr in south-central Nebraska.

The trooper then pulled over the van that was driven by Lorenz. A K9 officer then alerted officers it was picking up an odor of drugs coming from the van.

A search of the van resulted in investigators finding 198 pounds of marijuana, 800 dosage units of THC edibles, 79 THC vape cartridges, 18 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, two vials of anabolic steroids and one vial of human growth hormone, according to the state patrol.

Troopers said they also found a loaded handgun inside the van.

Lorenz was arrested upon the discovery of the drugs and faces numerous drug charges in Nebraska.

The release from Nebraska State Patrol that provided details about the drug bust did not mention if Lorenz had passengers in the van.
