MOORHEAD — One man has been arrested in connection to a stabbing assault in a neighborhood south of the Minnesota State University Moorhead campus.

Justin Dallas Cominghay, 32, is being held in the Clay County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault.

The call came into police as a possible stabbing at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the 900 block of 17th Street South.

Moorhead Police officers found Cominghay after they arrived.

The officers learned Cominghay knew the victim.

The male victim was taken to a hospital in a personal vehicle to a Sanford walk-in clinic.

Moorhead Police Sgt. Robb Matheson said after arriving at the clinic the victim was transferred to Sanford's emergency room in an ambulance and is in critical condition.

MOORHEAD — Moorhead police are investigating after a stabbing was reported at an address on the 900 block of 17th Street South about 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24.

The Red River Regional Dispatch Center confirmed it received a call reporting that a person had been stabbed and that officers were in the area.

An officer with the Moorhead Police Department who was near where the stabbing was reported said it was an active crime scene and declined to comment any further on the investigation.
