FARGO — A student at Woodrow Wilson High School was found with marijuana and a BB gun on Monday, Nov. 25, Fargo Public Schools said in a statement.
On Monday morning, a student reported a marijuana smell coming from a bathroom and reported it to school officials, who started an investigation, according to Executive Assistant to the Superintendent AnnMarie Campbell.
School officials reviewed security camera footage and identified a student for questioning. Staff and the school resource officer brought the student to the school's office and conducted a search, Campbell said.
During the search, school staff found an unloaded CO2 BB pistol, marijuana edible gummies and marijuana and paraphernalia in the student's backpack. Campbell said school staff did not find BBs in the bag.
Campbell said the student never made any threats before or during the search and that all the items found inside the bag were turned over to the Fargo Police Department. The student was taken into police custody and suspended from school. The student's parent was notified of the incident, Campbell said.
