FARGO — The Fargo Police Department is outfitting its officers with specialized medical gear as they prepare to respond to services calls amid a worldwide coronavirus pandemic.
A video posted Thursday, March 19, to the law enforcement agency's Facebook page shows officers trying on N95 respirator masks, which are recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to prevent the spread of the virus.
"So far, in the last two days, we have outfitted 140 officers out of 187 total," Officer Lucas Mock said in the video. "With these masks, we want to get every officer outfitted by Friday if possible."
Mock called the masks a tool to help protect officers from coronavirus and other illnesses.
