HIBBING, Minn. -- A Hibbing Public Schools elementary teacher is being investigated by the Hibbing Police Department for sharing explicit images with underage students.
According to a news release from Hibbing police, an officer received a voicemail Saturday regarding a video image sent from a male teacher to a 10-year-old child via a group Snapchat. The image showed complete frontal nudity from the chin down of an adult Caucasian male.
The parent of the child identified the male to police as an elementary teacher in Hibbing.
During the investigation, another video from the suspect showed "a bare-chested male lowering the camera to his boxer shorts" and then exposing his genitals to the camera. According to police, this video was sent to four teenagers.
Hibbing Superintendent Richard Aldrich said in an emailed statement the district is aware of the allegations made and the teacher has been placed on administrative leave.
"The district will be investigating this matter further and taking action as warranted," Aldrich said.
Hibbing Police Chief Steve Estey said no arrest has been made as of Friday afternoon.
