FARGO — Authorities here are searching for a person of interest in connection to a fatal assault early Tuesday morning, Aug. 4.
About 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to an apparent assault at 1102 Westrac Drive S., according to a news release from the Fargo Police Department. Upon arrival, officers discovered a teenager with life-threatening injuries, later identified as 18-year-old Cameron Caleb Camacho of Moorhead.
Camacho died at the hospital Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Officers and detectives determined that a fight allegedly happened between several people, but detectives are still investigating the details.
An autopsy of Camacho will take place to determine his exact cause of death. Detectives arrested Jonathan Hunt, 31, of Fargo for conspiracy to commit assault in connection to the fight. Further arrests are possible, the release said.
The department is requesting public assistance in locating Larry Darnell Evans, Jr., a person of interest in the case. Evans is 6-foot-5, weighs 300 pounds and has short, black hair. He may be driving a gold 2005 Pontiac G6 with North Dakota license plates 073 DBU, police said.
