LEONARD, N.D. — One person was in the hospital after an early Sunday morning fight in southern Cass County ended with that person being hit by a vehicle, law enforcement said Monday, Sept. 14.
Emergency responders were sent to the Ringneck Bar & Grill at 404 Railroad Ave. S. in Leonard, or about 20 miles south of Casselton, for a report of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies learned a 22-year-old from Hillsboro, N.D., and a 48-year-old West Fargo resident were involved in a fight at the location before one of the individuals hit the other person with a vehicle, a news release said.
The sheriff’s office did not say which person was taken to the hospital for injuries. It’s unclear if the two knew each other, Sgt. Tim Briggeman said.
No one else was involved in the altercation, Briggeman said. Deputies have not arrested anyone in connection to the fight, the statement said.
“The investigation remains active at this time, no further information is being released,” the sheriff's office said in its statement.
