DILWORTH — Authorities are searching for a man who reportedly fled the scene of a shooting that injured a person at a Dilworth apartment building Thursday morning, Nov. 12.
The shooting was first reported just after 8 a.m., about a quarter-mile west of Dilworth Elementary School.
When officers arrived, they found 37-year-old Christopher Lussier in an apartment stairwell with a gunshot wound to his leg and several bullet casings in a hallway, the Dilworth Police Department said in a news release.
The shooting happened after an argument broke out between Lussier and Dennis Hackley, 37, police said. After the shooting, Hackley left the apartment and headed north.
Police said they "need to speak with" Hackley about the incident.
Lussier was brought to a local hospital for surgery. His condition was not immediately available Thursday afternoon.
Dilworth Elementary went into a lockdown at 8:05 a.m. because of the shooting and the district re-routed two buses headed to Dilworth during the incident.
The lockdown was lifted at 8:17 a.m. after law enforcement officials reached out to school administrators.
