MOORHEAD — A student at the Moorhead High School Career Academy was taken into custody Thursday, Oct. 14, after police said he brought a fake gun to the school.

Officers initially received a call about a juvenile male student who had a gun in his backpack, according to a Facebook post from the Moorhead Police Department.

A lockdown was put in place as part of the school's standard safety procedures.

When they arrived, police found a replica of a firearm in the possession of a student.

The student was taken into custody without incident and is facing several charges, including a felony charge of terroristic threats, police said.

No students were hurt, and the school continued its regular schedule, according to a statement from Moorhead Area Public Schools.
