FARGO — Police arrested three people on suspicion of breaking into vehicles early Thursday, Dec. 13.

Fargo police Sgt. Matt Ysteboe said a witness called emergency dispatchers to report people breaking into cars between 32nd Street South and 33rd Street South along 16th Avenue South at about 2:30 a.m.

Officers discovered eight cars in the area with broken windows, and they believe as many as a dozen cars in the area may have been involved.

Chancelor Lewis, 20, and Hannah Dahl, 18, were arrested, along with a 16-year-old. Ysteboe said the suspects had property believed to be stolen from vehicles.

Police are also investigating whether the string of break-ins is tied to other reports of overnight car break-ins in Moorhead and Dilworth.
