MINOT, N.D - A woman will spend almost a decade behind bars for shooting and killing a man back in November 2017.
Kommika Gregory, 39, was convicted of manslaughter in the death of Ronald Thompson, 58 back in October of last year.
According to authorities in Minot, Thompson was shot when he tried to intervene in a dispute between Gregory and her ex-boyfriend, but Gregory argued she shot him in self-defense.
On Friday, she was sentenced to 10 years in prison with credit for more than a year she has already spent in jail.
Gregory will be required to serve at least 85% of her sentence before she is eligible for parole.
