Vial of urine falls from Grand Forks woman's body during strip search at jail, court documents say

GRAND FORKS - A Grand Forks woman hid a vial of urine in her body and planned to use it during a drug test last Saturday at the correctional center, according to a court document.

Marcia Jean Richotte, 46, pleaded guilty Tuesday, March 26, to the misdemeanor and was sentenced to 10 days in jail.

Richotte was already serving time for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and was being considered for work release, according to an affidavit for her arrest. Before the urine test she underwent a strip search, which is part of the process, the affidavit said. While officers were searching her, a vial of urine fell from her genital area, the court document said.

Investigators said they believe Richotte had stored another person's urine inside the vial and planned to use it to pass a drug test.
