MONTEVIDEO, Minn. — The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two people Sunday, Aug. 11, near Montevideo in west-central Minnesota.
The Sheriff’s Office received a request around noon Sunday to aid in locating a suicidal person believed to be in the county. Family members said they believed a girlfriend was with the suicidal person, according to a news release from Chippewa County Sheriff Derek Olson.
Officers located two adults in a secluded area of Chippewa County, west of the Sparta Cemetery.
One individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was transported by ambulance to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where that person was pronounced dead.
The names of the deceased will be released once autopsies and family notifications are completed, Olson said in the release.
