DILWORTH, Minn. — The Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton School Board has selected a new superintendent.

The board announced Wednesday, Feb. 3, that it's offered the job to Shannon Hunstad, a superintendent and K-12 principal in the Lancaster (Minn.) School District.

“The consensus was that Shannon Hunstad has the qualifications and skills to move the school district forward. We feel he will come into the position with an open mind, ready to listen, and committed to finding the best direction for the district, and we look forward to working with him,” board chair Lindsey Leach said in a statement.

The board expects to approve Hunstad's contract at its Monday, Feb. 8, meeting. It's anticipated Hunstad will start work July 1.

The current superintendent, Bryan Thygeson, is set to retire June 30.
