Driver identified in electric pole crash and rollover in Fargo

FARGO — The driver who crashed his vehicle into a utility pole and rolled over has been identified by Fargo police as 45-year-old Robert Lee Morton of Fargo.

Morton crashed a vehicle into an electrical pole and rolled over at University Drive South and First Avenue South shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday, May 30. The crash caused power outages for nearby Xcel Energy customers.

Morton and his 9-year-old child who was in the car were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Fargo Police Department says the incident is still under investigation.
