BISMARCK — The North Dakota Forest Service and USDA Forest Service Dakota Prairie Grasslands are partnering to spread fire prevention awareness with a “Flat Smokey” challenge.

Children and youth can download Flat Smokey from the Forest Service’s web page at https://www.ag.ndsu.edu/ndfs or the Dakota Prairie Grasslands web page at https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/dpg/home.

Through July 10, children can print Flat Smokey, color him, cut him out and then take a picture or video of Smokey engaged in a fire prevention activity. Children should post the photo or video on Facebook and tag the ND State Forest Service or Dakota Prairie Grasslands to receive Smokey swag.
