WYNDMERE — Wyndmere School is one of just seven districts to be honored with the National Blue Ribbon Award for K-12 this year.
The award is given to up to 420 schools each year; this year, 325 schools received the honor.
Only 65 schools have been awarded for K-12 programs since 2014.
Wyndmere superintendent Anthony Morrison says the award brought the district together — and there are many reasons the whole district deserves the award.
"There's a lot of a lot of things that contribute to that," he said. "But you know, the careful attention, they pay to the students schooling, the amount of community and parental involvement is just, you know, phenomenal. And so there's high expectations placed for the students."
Two other North Dakota schools, Roosevelt Elementary School in Mandan and Valley‐Edinburg Elementary School in Crystal also won the Blue Ribbon Award this year.
