MOORHEAD — A Snapchat of a handwritten note that threatened school violence was turned in by a Horizon East Middle School student to school administrators on Wednesday morning, Nov. 17.
School and law enforcement officials investigated the threat and "deemed the threat not credible and appropriate action has been taken," according to a notification sent to parents at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The details of the threat or the action taken were not released. Though officials said they followed the Cass Clay Unified Response threat assessment protocol, which includes a search.
"We understand that incidents of this nature raise concern for parents, students and staff. Please be assured that the Horizon campus is calm and students and staff are safely engaged in learning activities," officials said in the notification.
