Fargo man arrested after 10-mile police chase on I-29
HILLSBORO, N.D. — A Fargo man was jailed after leading police on a high-speed chase on Interstate 29 late Friday, Jan. 25.
At 11:49 p.m., a trooper clocked 22-year-old Lucas Kulberg going 105 mph in a 75-mph zone, about 5 miles south of Hillsboro, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The trooper tried to stop Kulberg, who instead led officers on a 10-mile chase up I-29. They eventually deflated Kulberg's tires with spike strips, about 5 miles north of Hillsboro, and captured him, the patrol said.
Kulberg, of Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of fleeing law enforcement and driving under suspension. He was booked into the Traill County Jail.
Kulberg has a prior conviction for robbery in Cass County District Court.
On Sept. 11, 2017, Kulberg entered the Simonson Station Store at 3810 Main Ave. in Fargo, wielding a large stick and demanding cigarettes , police said. He and the clerk got into a physical fight, and Kulberg eventually fled the store, according to police.
