FARGO — A student at Carl Ben Eielson Middle School who officials say brought an unloaded BB pistol to school on Friday, May 7, has been suspended and could face further discipline.

School administrators and a school resource officer searched the student after receiving a report that the student had brought a gun to school, Fargo Public Schools spokeswoman AnnMarie Campbell said in a statement. The report came from another student.

School staff found an unloaded BB pistol on the student which they immediately confiscated, said Campbell, adding that they did not find any BBs in the student's possession. Staff brought the student to the school’s office and contacted the student's parents.

The student with the BB gun did not make any threats on the school and all staff and students were safe, Campbell said.
