MOORHEAD — A Fargo woman is accused in Clay County District Court with defrauding the Medicaid program and collecting about $20,000 in the process.
Sura Ahmed Salem, 27, who works as a personal care assistant, is charged with six felony counts relating to theft by false representation for submitting time sheets for services that she did not provide, or weren’t provided in accordance with Minnesota law, according to court documents.
The charges are in connection with $20,000 that Salem was paid in return for services she said she provided to her mother between July 2013 and May 2016.
According to the individual who reported Salem’s alleged actions to authorities, Salem’s mother did not require personal care services, court records show.
Salem allegedly also submitted time sheets that overlapped with hours worked at different jobs, court records show.
