FARGO — A 20-year-old Benson, Minnesota, man has died in a two-vehicle crash on the 600 block of 25th Street North in Fargo on Friday afternoon, April 21.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the man was traveling north on a three-lane stretch of 25th Street from Main Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. when his Honda Accord crossed into the southbound lane colliding head-on with a van driven by Levi Lucasdale, 21, of Fargo.

Lucasdale had minor injuries, but a passenger in the van, Robert Yunker, 26, of Fargo, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The Benson man had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Sanford Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Yunker was also taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The patrol noted the pavement was wet at the time of the crash, and none of the men involved were wearing seat belts.

Because of the seriousness of the crash, Fargo police asked the Highway Patrol for assistance in the crash investigation.

The Benson man's name is expected to be released on Saturday pending notifications to family.
