FARGO – Bloody Marys and mimosas can now be served for Sunday brunch at restaurants and bars now that the City Commission has voted to change liquor laws to that effect.

Until Monday night, city law forbade all liquor-license holders from serving alcohol on premises before noon on Sundays. The new law moved that back to 11 a.m.

If Christmas falls on a Sunday, though, license holders would still not be able to serve alcohol at all.

City leaders also voted to forbid license holders from selling alcohol for consumption off premises, or "off-sale," before noon Sunday. Previously, the only restriction was after 2 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.
